Celebrate Recovery is for anyone who feels stuck in life, trapped by either their circumstances or addictions.
It’s also a place for people who haven’t faced those intense battles but want greater wisdom on leading a healthy life filled with freedom!
And that is what many courageous men and women have experienced at NCAC’s Celebrate Recovery.
Our current Thursday evening meeting schedule is as follows:
6:30-7:30pm: Open Share Small Groups (Men in Room P; Women in Room O)
Celebrate Recovery is a biblical and balanced program to help people overcome their ‘hurts, habits, and hang-ups.’
Based on the actual words of Jesus rather than psychological theory, Celebrate Recovery is unique because it bring the indispensable truth of Scripture and a life-transforming relationship with Jesus into the recovery equation.
What are the hurts, habits and hang-ups we talk about?
Being hurt is an emotional reaction to another person’s behavior or to a situation, such as abandonment, abuse, divorce, rejection, unfaithfulness of a spouse, codependency, or grief.
Struggling with a bad habit is an addiction to someone or something that usually happens when those hurts are not healed: alcohol, drugs, food, pornography, shopping, cutting, stealing, or people are several examples.
Hang-ups are negative mental attitudes that are used to cope with people or hardship, such as, anger, depression, fear, shame, guilt, unforgive-ness, prejudices, ungratefulness, or being negative.
Regardless of one’s stronghold, we all have fallen short. And because of sin, we’ve hurt ourselves, other people, and others have hurt us. But more importantly, we have a gracious God who loves us more than we can possibly imagine, and who wants to restore us to sanity.
